Getting Your Devices Ready

Before starting, ensure that your Apple Watch is connected and that the Train Fitness Watch app is up to date.

Starting a Workout

Freeform Workouts

To begin a freeform workout:

  1. Start a workout on either your Apple Watch or iPhone. Your session will sync and mirror on both devices.

  2. For auto-detected exercises, simply start exercising, and you’ll see automatic rep and weight detection on your watch. After completing an exercise, confirm the sets and adjust the weight if necessary.
The exercise will then be logged. On your mobile device, you can review the workout details or swipe down from the main watch display to view the exercise log.

  3. If you'd like to add an exercise that is not auto-detected, tap the Add (+) button and select the desired exercise on either your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Template Workouts

  1. Select the desired template and start performing the exercises.

  2. You can turn Guide Mode on or off to assist with the next set.

Once you’ve finished a workout:

  1. Swipe left on the watch interface or tap the on your mobile editor to end the session.

  2. If you completed a templated workout, you’ll have the option to update the template based on the session you just completed.

Additional Tips

  • Reps for Auto-Detection: To ensure accurate detection, perform a minimum of 3 reps per exercise. While you can adjust the detection threshold, we recommend keeping it at 3 for optimal accuracy.

  • No Faking Exercises: Train Fitness uses a technology called Neural Kinetic Profiling™, which is highly sensitive to your movements. Even minor changes in motion can impact detection. For example, performing a dumbbell curl without holding a dumbbell may cause the auto-detection to fail. Always use proper form to ensure accurate tracking.

  • Apple Watch Orientation: Check your Apple Watch's Digital Crown orientation settings. If the orientation is set incorrectly, the motion data will be captured inaccurately, resulting in erroneous detection.

  • Logging Weight and Reps: Learn more about accurately logging your weight and reps here.

After the Workout

Give the workout a title and caption, and add pictures! Share your workout in the Train Fitness feed to keep friends and followers updated.

If you need to edit workout details, you can:

  1. Go to the desired workout.

  2. Edit exercises, weights, titles, captions, or any other details anytime after the session.
