When you start a workout from a template and make changes during the session, those changes can automatically update the original template. You can update the Workout Structure, Rep Count, Weights, or any combination of these.
To automatically update a template on your iPhone, toggle each of the template update settings in the Finish Workout sheet.
To update a template on your Apple Watch after a workout, select the "Update Template" banner on the watch save screen. From here you can specify exactly what aspects of the template you'd like to have updated.
Update Options
You have the option to adjust the workout structure, rep count, weight, rest time, or any combination of these settings.
Workout Structure
The Workout Structure toggle allows for the following updates to the template:
Addition of sets within existing exercises
Deletion of sets within existing exercises
Addition of new exercises
Deletion, swapping of existing exercises
Reorganization of exercises in the template.
Rep Count
The Rep Count toggle updates the template with the actual reps you performed during the workout. It replaces the old rep counts.
Weights
The Weight toggle updates the template with the weights you used during the workout. It overwrites the previous weights.
