Rest Time and Rest Alarm

View rest time or set a rest alarm to remind you when to start the next set.

Updated over a month ago

By default in the Train Fitness app, the rest timer counts up automatically from zero after a set is logged. This rest timer is displayed on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.

In addition, users can set a Rest Alarm, which counts down from a pre-set time interval. You can set this time interval to your desired rest interval as follows:

Rest Alarm in a Freeform Workout:

In a Freeform workout, you can set a Rest Alarm with a fixed duration for consistent rest reminders.

  1. Open the Train Fitness Watch app

  2. Swipe to the left of the main display

  3. Tap on Settings > Alarm > Enabled

  4. Toggle the switch to enable or disable the rest alarm

Pro Tip: For fast-toggling of the Rest Alarm, tap the orange number directly on the watch interface to bring up the Rest Alarm page.

Rest Alarm in a Template Workout:

In a Templated Workout, the Rest Alarm is specified by the "Rest" for each set. This allows custom rest values for each given set you perform.

When there are upcoming sets, your template defines the rest alarm time. You can set different rest alarm times between sets for the same exercise. If there are no upcoming sets, there will be no rest alarm. Instead, you will see the timer that counts up.

You can change these values by directly tapping on the rest time for each upcoming set on your iPhone.

Rest Alarm Audio Prompts:

If you want to be notified through your headphones when your Reset Alarm is up, you can turn on "Audio" alerts from the Rest Alarm settings. These prompts will notify you when it's time to start your next set via a voice-prompt through your headphones.
