Smart Set Updates (Auto Update ✨)

Quickly edit sets and have subsequent set values change based on your input

Updated today

When training, your workouts evolve — so should your data. Auto Update automatically keeps your upcoming sets in sync when you make small adjustments.

💡 What It Does

If you turn on Auto Update ✨, any change you make to a set — such as weight, reps, or rest time — is intelligently applied to future, unlogged sets of the same exercise.

For example:
You start your Barbell Back Squat session lifting 20 lb, but it feels too light. You update it to 25 lb.

With Auto Update enabled, all the remaining unlogged sets will automatically increase from 20 lb → 25 lb — saving you from having to adjust each one manually.

🧩 How It Works

  • The app looks at the difference between your old and new value.

  • That difference is applied forward to any uncompleted sets of the same exercise.

  • Logged (completed) sets stay untouched, ensuring your history remains accurate.

📱 Auto Update on the iPhone

When editing a set on the iPhone, you can enable or disable Auto Update using the dropdown box above the keyboard.

⌚️ Auto Update on the Apple Watch

By default, Auto Update is disabled on the Apple Watch. You can turn this on from the Train Fitness settings on your iPhone:

Settings > Workout Settings > Auto Update Values

Unlike the iPhone, on the Apple Watch you cannot toggle Auto Update on or off for each set, you can only set this as "on" or "off" for all sets.
