Guide Mode

Guide Mode helps guide you through a templated workout on your Apple Watch, showing your next set’s exercise, reps, and weight.

Updated over a week ago

Guide Mode helps you stay on track during a templated workout by providing information about your next set, including exercise, reps, and weight. It is available only on your Apple Watch when you're following a templated workout. Note that Guide Mode is not available in free-form workouts, as these don't have pre-planned sets.

Enabling and Using Guide Mode

While in a templated workout, you can toggle Guide Mode on or off by tapping the icon in the upper left corner of your screen.

You can tap on the Guide Mode card to edit or log the set.

Set Order in Guide Mode

Guide Mode dynamically adjusts based on your logged sets.

  • If you haven't finished all sets for an exercise, Guide Mode will prioritize completing the current exercise. For example, if you've completed 2 out of 3 sets of Bicep Curl, it will prompt you to finish the last set of Bicep Curl.

  • Once all sets of an exercise are completed, Guide Mode will automatically move to the next planned set. In this case, the first set of Cable Fly High.

Finishing a Templated Workout

After completing all sets in a templated workout, the guide card will prompt you with, "You’ve completed your workout."

You can end the workout or switch to free-form mode to continue exercising.
